About Laser Treatment
How does laser remove hair?
Hair removal lasers emits light at a specific wavelength that is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle, leaving the surrounding skin undamaged. The light is converted into heat energy that disables the follicle so that it will not produce another hair.
Does it hurt?
There is a slight prickling feeling during treatment but our i-med+5 laser machine is virtually pain free. The laser guide has the most advanced contact cooling system that keeps the skin at a constant cool temperature plus a separate cooling hand piece to make treatment safe and comfortable.
How many treatments are required?
Most people require between 6 and 8 sessions with monthly intervals to obtain the complete hair free skin that they are looking for. We provide an eight session course so that you can be sure of complete satisfaction.
If you are one of the lucky ones who is satisfied after six sessions the remaining sessions have an unlimited life span and can be used for the top sessions that are recommended from 6 months to 2 years after the end of the course.
Is the i-med+5 laser the best choice for my skin and hair?
Our i-med machine uses the latest most advanced technologies in laser hair removal. It produces three separate wavelengths, Diode, Alexandrite and ND Yag that are suitable for differing hair colours and skin pigmentations.
The type/colour of your hair and skin will determine the tuning settings of the machine to emit the exact wavelength required to treat your hair, which will be discussed with you during your test patch consultation.
Our machine is also able to give a detailed record of the amount of laser exposure you have in each session further ensuring safe and effective treatment,
What is the difference between Laser and IPL?
IPL technology is a cheaper but less effective treatment for hair removal because the machines produce light on a broad spectrum of wavelengths (similar to a light bulb) and cannot be focused to a concentrated beam. The light has a more shallow penetration and only some of the wavelengths emitted will be effective for hair reduction.
Lasers are far more precise and can selectively target dark coarse hairs leaving the surrounding skin undamaged. Each laser pulse takes a fraction of a second and can treat several hairs at once, which makes it quicker and more effective particularly when treating larger body areas.
